Site overview

Telegraph Hill Mill was a smock mill at Icklesham, near the road between Hastings and Rye. It was built in 1834 and later gave its name to the local mill site. The mill was pulled down around 1922.

No standing smock-mill structure survives.

History

Telegraph Hill Mill stood at Icklesham and was a smock mill. It was built in 1834 and stood on the north side of the Winchelsea to Hastings road. The mill took its name from Telegraph House, later known as the Mill House.

It survived into the early twentieth century but was pulled down around 1922. No standing smock-mill structure survives at the site.
