Mappleton Mill is a former tower corn mill at Barren Hill, Mappleton. It was built in 1798 and later converted to residential use in the early twentieth century. The tower retained a cap and part of a stock in twentieth-century views, and the former mill survives as The Old Windmill at Mappleton.

History

Mappleton Mill was built in 1798 as a wind-powered tower corn mill at Barren Hill, Mappleton. The mill worked as part of the village's agricultural milling provision before its wind-powered working life ended.

In the early twentieth century the former mill was converted to residential use. The tower survived with its cap and part of one stock in later views. The building now survives as The Old Windmill at Mappleton. Details of the original machinery, millstones and final working date remain uncertain.
