Site overview

Sandy Lane Mill at Middlestown, in the Sitlington area, was a tower windmill used for corn milling. The former mill survives as an adapted structure and has been converted to residential use. The site is also associated with Coxley in later photographic records.

Its construction date, machinery details, and final working date have not been established.

History

Sandy Lane Mill was a tower windmill at Middlestown in the Sitlington area. It was used as a corn mill. The surviving structure has been converted to residential use, and later views identify the remaining base or tower at Coxley.

The date of construction has not been established, and no detailed machinery inventory has been identified. The final working date is not known. The former mill remains represented by the surviving adapted structure.
