Site overview
Rhoade's Mill at Sibsey is a nineteenth-century tower corn mill. It was standing by 1823 and was later raised by another storey. The mill ceased operating by wind in 1921, and three years later its sails and fantail were removed.
By 1934 the cap had gone and the machinery was no longer in situ. By the later twentieth century the tower was being used as a storehouse, and it has since been converted into a private house. The site is one of Sibsey's two former windmill landmarks, distinct from the restored Sibsey Trader Windmill nearby.

History
Rhoade's Mill is the older surviving windmill structure at Sibsey. The tower was standing by 1823 and was later raised by an additional storey. It formed one of the village's two tower corn mills, the other being the later Trader Mill.
Rhoade's Mill ceased to operate as a windmill in 1921. In 1924 its sails and fantail were removed, marking the loss of its wind-powered working form. The cap had gone by 1934, and no machinery remained in situ.
By 1986 the former mill was recorded as being used as a storehouse. The brick-built former windmill has since been converted into a private home, with modern residential accommodation and associated grounds. Its surviving tower preserves the visible remains of Sibsey's earlier nineteenth-century windmill alongside the village's better-known restored Trader Mill.
