The historical trail notes that, beyond the gate on Mill Lane, buildings associated with a more recent windmill can be seen to the left, including a former bakehouse, while the mill itself stood on the lawned mound to the right. The mill is described in that material as a post mill and is shown on a map of 1835. A conservation area appraisal for Lambley also states that Mill Lane and Chapel Lane run up the northern hillside of Lambley Dumble and that Mill Lane formerly led to a windmill, now demolished.
