Site overview
Girling's Mill was a post mill at Sweffling, near Saxmundham. It stood at grid reference TM 348 639 and was in existence by 1775. The mill was photographed in 1933 and was demolished in September 1935.
Its roundhouse remained after the loss of the mill body and was still identifiable in 1972.

Girling's Mill was one of several post mills at Sweffling. It stood west of the road at TM 348 639 and was in existence by 1775. The mill was a post windmill with a roundhouse and was photographed in June 1933, shortly before its demolition.
The windmill body was removed in September 1935. The roundhouse remained as the principal surviving element of the site, and it was photographed in 1972. The later history of the internal machinery has not been established.
