History

Duncton Mill stood at Clayton in West Sussex, on the ridge above the Hassocks and Clayton area. It was a post windmill and worked as a corn mill before the later tower mill was built at the same windmill group. The mill was built in 1765.

It remained part of the Clayton milling landscape until the nineteenth century, when a new tower mill was built nearby. Duncton Mill was demolished in 1866. The site then became associated with the surviving Clayton windmill group, but the original post mill itself no longer survives.
