History

Belford Road Windmill is a former tower windmill in Edinburgh. The site is recorded as an eighteenth-century windmill and is associated with the Belford Road area west of the city centre. Scottish windmill lists associate the mill with a 1759 date and with nineteenth-century mapping.

The surviving windmill structure was listed at Category B on 15 June 1975. No detailed working chronology, machinery description, ownership sequence, later use history, or final windmill operating date has been established.
