Dell Quay Mill was built as an eighteenth-century post mill.

Dell Quay Mill was an eighteenth-century post mill at Dell Quay in Apuldram, near Chichester Harbour. A miller insured the windmill in 1790, and a drawing showed it as a post mill with a brick or stone roundhouse. The 1838 tithe map showed the circular base with a large adjoining house.
The mill later fell into disuse after an engine was fitted at the site, and the roundhouse was incorporated into Dell Quay House.

History
Dell Quay Mill stood at Dell Quay in Apuldram, close to Chichester Harbour. It was a post mill associated with William Tipper and was built in the eighteenth century. In 1790 a miller insured the windmill.
The mill was square-built, black, and had a flat sloping roof rather than the usual form of cap. It had a brick or stone roundhouse, and the 1838 tithe map showed the circular base with a large adjoining house, probably the mill owner's residence. The mill later fell into disuse after an engine was fitted at the site.
The post mill superstructure disappeared, but the roundhouse was incorporated into Dell Quay House.
