Traces of the brick base survive in the grass near the former chalkpit.
Site overview
Lancing Down Mill was a post mill near Lancing Ring. A windmill at Lancing Down was present by 1750, and the later post mill had four sails and a tail post. It last worked in 1898 and was demolished in 1905.
Traces of the brick base have survived in the grass near the former chalkpit at the top of Mill Road.

History
Lancing Down Mill stood near Lancing Ring, at the eastern end of the former chalkpit by the top of Mill Road. The later mill on this site was a post mill with four sails and a tail post. A windmill at Lancing Down was present by 1750.
The mill was photographed in the nineteenth century, when the miller and other figures were shown around the working post mill near the chalkpit. It last worked in 1898 and was demolished in 1905. Traces of the brick base have survived in the grass.
