The Downs Windmill was built at Sidley around 1813.

The Downs Windmill stood at Sidley, Bexhill-on-Sea, and was also known as Sidley Mill or Pankhurst's windmill. It was built about 1813 and later became one of several windmills in the Bexhill area. The mill was dismantled in 1928 and moved to Stocks Green at Leigh in Kent.
Brick remains survived at Windmill Park and were listed in 1949.

History
The Downs Windmill stood at Sidley, Bexhill-on-Sea, close to Ninfield Road and the later Windmill Park area. It was built about 1813 and was part of the group of windmills associated with Bexhill and its surrounding settlements. The mill was also known as Sidley Mill and Pankhurst's windmill.
In 1928 the windmill was dismantled and moved to Stocks Green at Leigh in Kent, where it became known as Stocks Green Mill. At Sidley, brick remains of the former windmill base survived. These remains were listed in 1949 and remained visible in Windmill Park in the early twenty-first century.
