Chiseldon Windmill is the rebuilt tower of the former Saxon Mill from Chiseldon. The brick tower was first built at Chiseldon, probably in 1823, and worked as a corn mill until 1894. After the loss of its cap, sails and working gear, it became a water storage tank.
The tower was dismantled and relocated to Windmill Hill, Swindon, between October 1983 and August 1984, where it was reconstructed with a new cap, fan stage, sails and external details as a business-park landmark.

History
Chiseldon Windmill began as a brick tower corn mill at Chiseldon, probably built in 1823. It remained in milling use until 1894. After working ceased, its cap, sails and other working parts were removed, and the tower was converted to a water storage tank. The original tower survived at Chiseldon until the early 1980s.
In 1983 the tower was dismantled and moved from Chiseldon to Windmill Hill in West Swindon. The relocation and reconstruction works were carried out between October 1983 and August 1984. The rebuilt structure was given a replacement cap, fan stage, sails and associated external details, intended to reproduce the appearance of the former mill. It now stands at Windmill Hill as the relocated remains of the Chiseldon tower mill.
