Askham Bryan Windmill is a former tower corn mill near Askham Bryan, west of York. The surviving structure was recorded as a capless tower in the twentieth century and later carried a water tank. It no longer retains its wind-powered milling equipment, but the tower remains as the principal surviving element of the former mill.

History

Askham Bryan Windmill was built as a tower corn mill near Askham Bryan. The construction date and detailed working history have not been established. The mill had ceased to operate by the twentieth century, when the tower survived without cap or sails.

Later adaptation placed a water tank on the former mill tower. The surviving structure remains identifiable as a former tower windmill, although its machinery, final working date and detailed conversion history remain uncertain.
