History

Westwood Mill was built on Beverley Westwood as a wind-powered tower corn mill. It is also recorded under the alternative names Jakeman's Mill and Lowson's Mill. The former mill later ceased working, but the tower survived on the Westwood near Cartwright Lane.

Its construction date, machinery, operating sequence and final working date remain uncertain, but the surviving structure preserves one of Beverley's former tower mill sites.
