Hatfield Mill on Lings Lane was a wind-powered tower corn mill. By 1934 it survived as a derelict tower with its cap but without sails, retaining two broken arms of the cross. Later photographs show the former mill as a disused surviving tower.

Its construction date, machinery and final working date have not been established.

History

Hatfield Mill was built on Lings Lane at Hatfield as a wind-powered tower corn mill. Its early development and working chronology remain uncertain. By August 1934 the mill had ceased working and survived as a derelict tower with its cap, no sails and two broken arms of the cross.

The tower continued to stand in the later twentieth and early twenty-first centuries as a disused former windmill. Details of its machinery, closure date and later treatment remain uncertain.
