Logan Windmill stands near Logan Mills on the eastern side of the Rhins of Galloway. It was built in 1684 and was already ruinous by the mid nineteenth century. The site was historically connected with the Logan estate.

History
Logan Windmill is a former seventeenth-century windmill at Logan Mills in the parish of Kirkmaiden, Dumfries and Galloway. The windmill was built in 1684 and formed part of the wider Logan Mills group, which also included corn and saw mill activity associated with the Logan estate. By the time of the mid nineteenth-century Ordnance Survey Name Book the windmill was already in ruins.
The ruins were recorded together with the corn and saw mills as part of the lands owned by the McDouall or McDowall family of Logan House. The later fishing station at Logan Mills developed within the same estate landscape. The windmill remains as a ruin, but no full machinery inventory, complete ownership sequence, or precise final working date has been established.
