Site overview

Tower Mill at Guilden Morden is a Grade II listed former tower mill on Potton Road, close to the Hooks Mill complex. The listed description records it as a mid nineteenth-century tower mill of tarred brick, with four tapering stages. It has a ground-floor halved boarded door, a loft door above and windows at each stage.

The mill originally had an ogee cap, but its internal machinery had been removed by the time of listing. The building is said to have been built in 1865 by Cross and Carne of Bedfordshire. Windmill World identifies the site as Hooks Mill, Guilden Morden, a tower corn mill.

Capturing Cambridge also records the tower mill as part of the wider Hooks Mill history. The surviving structure is a capless former windmill tower within a historic mill group.
