Middle Rasen Windmill stands on Mill Lane and was built by 1827 as a tower mill for cereal milling. It had four patent sails and two pairs of stones, one French and one grey. The tower was raised by one storey during its working life.
Wind working continued into the 1920s, the sails had gone by 1931, and engine-driven milling followed. The mill became disused in 1932 and was later incorporated into commercial premises.

History
Middle Rasen Windmill was built by 1827 on Mill Lane as a tower mill for cereal milling. It worked with four patent sails and two pairs of stones, one French and one grey. During its working life the tower was raised by an additional storey.
The mill continued working by wind until the 1920s, but the sails had been lost by 1931. Engine-driven milling then followed. When the last miller died in 1932, the mill became disused and was subsequently dismantled.
The tower lost its upper portion and returned to about the height at which it began its working life. After a long period of disuse, it was incorporated into commercial premises associated with adjoining buildings.
