History

Elderkin's Mill was a tower corn mill at Whittlesey. The town had a strong nineteenth-century milling presence, with many windmills operating in the parish during that period. Elderkin's Mill survived after most of the other Whittlesey mills had disappeared and is identified as a derelict tower mill.

Its exact construction date and final working date have not been established. The surviving tower stands as the main physical remnant of the mill, while the sails, cap and working machinery are no longer part of the visible structure. It remains associated with Whittlesey's former corn-milling landscape.
