Cole's Mill, also known as Barley Green Mill, was a wind-powered post mill at Stradbroke. The mill stood at Barley Green and was in existence by about 1704. It remained part of the Stradbroke milling landscape into the twentieth century and was demolished in 1941.

Some components from the mill later had a separate afterlife in the repair and alteration of other Suffolk windmills.

History

Cole's Mill, also known as Barley Green Mill, stood at Barley Green in Stradbroke. It was a post mill and was in existence by about 1704, making it one of the older identified windmill sites in the parish. The mill continued to stand into the twentieth century.

It was demolished in 1941, ending its use as a complete windmill at Stradbroke. Parts associated with the mill survived beyond demolition, including the fantail carriage, which was later fitted to another Suffolk mill. Interior photographs also preserve details of the buck and machinery before the loss of the structure.
