History

The Minsmere Levels mill was a wind-powered smock drainage mill on the coastal levels near Leiston. It worked as a windpump and formed part of the drainage landscape of the Minsmere Levels. The mill body was removed in 1910.

After the loss of the superstructure, the base remained as the principal surviving physical element of the mill site. No later restoration of a complete smock structure has been established for this location.
