The Earl Soham post mill at TM 274 644 stood at Clowes' Corner. It was in existence by 1783 and remained a recognisable post mill into the twentieth century. The mill was recorded in derelict condition during the 1930s and 1940s, with views showing the mill body, sails, fan, roundhouse, and surviving internal structural parts at different stages.

No complete post mill survives.

History

The Earl Soham post mill at TM 274 644 stood at Clowes' Corner. It was in existence by 1783 and worked as a wind-powered post mill. The mill remained standing into the twentieth century and was photographed in declining condition during the 1930s and 1940s.

Its recorded remains included the mill body, sails, fan, roundhouse, head of the main post, samson head, and pintle at different stages of decay. The complete mill has not survived, and the final date of demolition has not been established.
