Bardwell Windmill is a tower corn mill on School Lane, Bardwell. It is restored and workable and was listed at Grade II* in 1983. The mill retains machinery, including stones, cogs, governor, flour dresser, and working gear.

Restoration returned the mill to operation after hurricane damage, and new sails were fitted by 2010.

History

Bardwell Windmill is a tower corn mill standing on School Lane in Bardwell. The brick tower survives with cap, sails, and internal machinery. The mill is restored and workable and retains working equipment including millstones, cogs, governor, flour dresser, and ancillary drive.

It was listed at Grade II* in 1983. The mill suffered major damage in the 1987 hurricane and subsequently underwent restoration. By 2010 new sails had been fitted, and in 2012 the mill was back in operation after a long restoration period.

The surviving structure remains one of Suffolk's restored working tower mills.
