Duncton Gate Mill was a post corn mill at Clayton. It was part of the Clayton windmill group with Jack and Jill. The post mill body has gone, but the roundhouse remains survive.

The site forms part of the Grade II* listed Clayton Windmills and Millhouse group.

History

Duncton Gate Mill was a post corn mill at Clayton. It stood near Jack and Jill and formed part of the well-known group of windmills on the South Downs. The mill body has not survived, but the roundhouse remains are still identifiable.

Early twentieth-century imagery shows the mill body still standing, while later material shows the surviving roundhouse remains. The site is included within the Grade II* listed Clayton Windmills and Millhouse group.
