History

Old Duck Mill stood at Kingston near Lewes as a smock corn mill. It was built in 1802 and worked during the nineteenth century. The smock mill collapsed in 1891, ending the survival of the complete structure.

The lower base remained after the collapse. By the later twentieth century the surviving lower walling was still identifiable, with a disused swimming pool set inside the former base. The site therefore survives as base remains rather than as a standing smock mill.
