Site overview

Sidley smock mill stood at Bexhill as a wind-powered corn mill. The upper mill structure has gone, but base foundations and a millstone survived. The site is now defined by foundation remains rather than by a complete smock mill.

History

Sidley smock mill stood at Bexhill as a wind-powered smock corn mill. The working mill body has been lost. The surviving remains were reduced to the foundations of the base and a millstone.

By the later twentieth century the base foundations and millstone still marked the site. No complete smock tower, cap, sails, or working machinery survives at the location.
