History

Rottingdean had more than one windmill site. One post mill site lay north of the village, distinct from the surviving Beacon Mill. The post mill structure no longer stands, and no surviving roundhouse, trestle, sails, or machinery has been confirmed at the site.

The site is therefore recorded as a former post mill location only. The exact construction date, final working date, and later demolition history have not been established for this specific mill site.
