Cornford's Windwheel was a small wind-powered engine site at Punnett's Town, near Heathfield in East Sussex. It was distinct from the larger Blackdown or Cherry Clack smock mill nearby. History
Cornford's Windwheel stood at Punnett's Town, near Heathfield in East Sussex. It was a windwheel rather than a conventional post, smock or tower mill, and formed part of the wider concentration of wind-powered milling and mechanical sites around Heathfield and Punnett's Town. The windwheel was photographed around 1910 and is recorded separately from the larger Blackdown or Cherry Clack smock mill.
Its detailed working history has not been established. No construction date, named builder, machinery inventory, final working date or surviving structure has been confirmed for the site.
