History
Heene Mill was one of the former post mills of the Worthing area. Earlier windmilling at Heene was recorded from the seventeenth century, and a later Heene post mill was recorded from 1825. That later mill stood into the early twentieth century and was demolished in June 1903.
The standing mill body, trestle, roundhouse, sails, and working machinery have gone. The site is therefore recorded as a former post mill location rather than as surviving windmill remains.
